Prosthetic Dentistry

It is well known that the lack of teeth causes stomach problems because of insatisfactory chewing. What's more this smile is not very convincing, but only the specialist knows that the fact of missing teeth will endure irreversible damages to the whole dentition.

The teeth tend to make contact with their pairs, the terminology says with their antagonists. Most teeth also tend to contact their neighbours. Why is that impostant?
Here is an example:
The lower 6. tooth is missing. Because of this fact, its antagonist, the upper 6. doesn't have the physiologic charging, so it loses its function. If a tooth has no function, it slowly, but surely get loose. But the trouble never comes alone, the lower 7. might bend toward the place of the missing 6., so it changes its axis, that leads its overcharge, which causes pain, and increases the possibility of fractures, and also means a complication if a prosthetic work might be done.

Considering these facts it gets clear how important is to try to keep our teeth while they can be saved, but if not, and one of them should be extracted, to make up the shortage.
